The Space Shuttle was a partially recyclable low Planet orbital spacecraft system run by the UNITED STATE National Aeronautics and also Room Management (NASA). Its main program name was Space Transport System, taken from a 1969 plan for a system of multiple-use spacecraft of which it was the only item moneyed for development. Operational goals released countless satellites, interplanetary probes, and the Hubble Space Telescope (HST); carried out scientific research experiments in orbit; and also participated in construction and servicing of the International Area Station.
Shuttle bus parts included the Orbiter Automobile (OV), a pair of recoverable solid rocket boosters (SRBs), and the expendable external tank (ET) consisting of fluid hydrogen and also liquid oxygen. The Shuttle was introduced vertically, like a typical rocket, with both SRBs running in parallel with the OV's three primary engines, which were fueled from the ET.
